Google IO Android

I followed the mobile track exclusively, although it was tempting to go to some non mobile sessions. My favorite was Romain Guy's presentation on creating better UIs. Romain created most of the Android SDK UI stuff, so he's certainly the expert on the subject. Picking up a lot of useful tips for ones own apps is always a good thing.
Another brilliant presentation was the one about saving power, together with the one on gaming wich was focusing on saving time in your program. As phones have limited battery power, you should abandon a lot of your Java good programming practices in order to make your app perform without draining the battery. It's a lot of work to do the experimenting yourself, so I was happy to see Google's statistics on the subject. Once I have my notes - and memory - organized, I'll post in some more detail.
